OFFSHORE FLOATING BARRIER

FLOATING BARRIERS

Offshore Floating Barrier

Developed by Alfattan Ship Industry, the barrier was built to provide maximum security for offshore areas owned by the United Arab Emirates Government. The Offshore floating barrier employs capture system supported by a ponton structure.

The Offshore Floating Barrier is designed with ultimate stopping energy of 12.33 Megajoules and working stopping energy of 7.44 Megajoulse

Floating Barrier is designed to Stop:

  • Fast Inshore Attack Crafts (FIAC) Boat-Borne Improvised Explosive Devices (BBIED)
  • Multi boat and swarm attacks
  • Intruders at full power before, during and after impact.
  • Slow speed, Heavy tonnage Vessels
  • High speed, lower tonnage Vessels
  • Floating Barrier System-Energy Absorptoion and Stopping power
  • Ultimate stopping energy 12.33 Mega-Joules
  • Working stopping energy 7.44 Mega-Joules PROPLETUA-1

Floating Barrier System-Energy Absorptoion and Stopping power

  • Ultimate stopping energy 12.33 Mega-Joules
  • Working stopping energy 7.44 Mega-Joules

Constructed System

  • The Floating Barrier's overall lenght is 15 meters. • It's pontoons are High Density Polythylene (HDPE) that is corrosion free and resistant to UV exposure for 50+ years.
  • Pontoons are 45mm thick (1.75in) and 1200 diameter (47.24in)
  • Nylon mesh rope attached to a galvanized steel beam that runs from pontoon to pontoon. Anchors vary by type and size depending on requirements.
  • Shore terminations are designed and installed to resist loads induced by high current flow rates. • Shore connections and subsurface anchors are designed to accommodate fluctuations of water levels dams and ocean tide cycles, high currents, and tidal ranges. Gate systems built to client needs
